    Transit offers the ideal WYSIWYG user interface tailored to the needs of the translator. The standalone editor allows the translator to work entirely independently. And that means you are not subject to the product and pricing policies of other software producers.

Fuzzy Matches

    Transit shows you similar, existing translations (known as fuzzy matches) from the same or previous documents. You then only have to translate the parts of the sentence or words that are different. The rest is done for you automatically by Transit.

Quality assurance

    By using the "Segment Filter" function in Transit you can filter on the basis of a variety of criteria related to translation history (e.g. translator, date or reference material used) so that only selected parts of a file are displayed. In that way you can simplify proofreading. There are also numerous automated quality assurance functions such as spellchecking, checking the use of identical numbers in source and target languages, integrity testing, etc.

Assistance with costing

    With Transit you are always in control when it comes to accounting and profitability because you can calculate your projects in advance. If you have agreed individual terms with specific customers you can save them in Transit.

Reference-based spellchecking in every language

    Spellchecking based on suitable selected reference files ensures customer and subject-specific spelling and renderings in all languages.

Dynamic linking – targeted use of terminology

    Dynamic linking ensures correct use of the suggested terminology. All you need to do is to highlight a term in Transit/TermStar to view its context in the source or target language.

Transparency through concordance

    The concordance search using fuzzy-match logic gives you greater transparency as you can search quickly and easily for individual words, phrases or similar terms and see the context in which they are used. And you can do it in both the source and target languages.

Convert translation processes without loss

    The fully integrated alignment tool in Transit enables the use of existing translations by constructing a new translation memory from them. In that way you can adapt your translation processes to modern-day requirements and re-use your previously translated documents in Transit without problems.

    The Transit alignment module automatically analyses source and target documents for sentences and paragraphs that are the same and then merges them. The sentence pairs thus generated can subsequently be used as a translation memory for future projects so that identical sentences are automatically translated identically.

Stay flexible

    The Transit translation memory is stored in an XML structure – in other words not as binary data but in a text-based format. The advantages of smaller file sizes are flexible working, decentralised project management and high process performance. Because of the open-source architecture of the Transit translation memory it is a simple matter to integrate other tools.

That means the working file and the archive file are the same. And that makes revising, reworking and proofreading particularly easy because the translator can use the same features as when translating.
